Every Thoughtful Step Towards More Sustainable Journeys

Bangkok Airways is strengthening its Boutique Service proposition alongside environmental initiatives under its “Boutique Footprints” concept.
Bangkok, July 14, 2026 – For Bangkok Airways, a journey is not solely about transporting passengers safely to their destination; it is about creating shared value for passengers, communities, and the environment throughout every stage of the travel experience.
Under the "Boutique Footprints" concept, Bangkok Airways believes that even the smallest details of service can generate meaningful impact. Every thoughtful action represents another step toward a more sustainable journey.
Currently, the global aviation industry is collectively accelerating efforts to mitigate the impacts of climate change. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has set a target of achieving Net-Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050
As a leading regional airline, Bangkok Airways continues to enhance its operations across all dimensions in alignment with its long-term sustainability vision. These efforts range from improving operational efficiency and resource management to waste reduction, supporting the adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and elevating passenger services while minimizing environmental impact. This integrated approach reflects the airline’s unwavering commitment to conducting business responsibly.
The airline has carefully studied passenger consumption patterns to optimize its onboard meal services according to the characteristics of each route and flight duration. Menu design and inflight catering are continuously refined to better meet passenger preferences while enhancing resource efficiency. These improvements contribute to reducing food waste and minimizing the volume of waste sent to landfills.
At the same time, Bangkok Airways has introduced a new onboard drinking water service model aimed at reducing plastic packaging consumption without compromising its renowned standards of safety, warmth, and attentive service that define Asia’s Boutique Airline.
These seemingly small adjustments have resulted in tangible environmental benefits, including:
- Reduced plastic bottle usage by more than 1,700 kilograms through enhancements to our onboard drinking water service.
- Reduced single-use packaging by more than 2,200 kilograms through an optimized inflight food service.
- Reduced greenhouse gas emissions by more than 10,000 kilograms of CO₂ equivalent (kgCO₂e).
Remark: The figures above compare the previous and current inflight service models based on passenger and flight volumes recorded in June 2026.
These statistics represent merely the beginning of a dedicated effort to ensure that every journey minimizes its environmental footprint. For Bangkok Airways, sustainability is embedded in its corporate DNA, encompassing every stage of operation from planning and service delivery to arriving responsibly at every destination.
The airline remains steadfast in its belief that “Every step of care represents our ‘Boutique Footprints’, contributing to meaningful journeys that create lasting value for passengers, society and the world we share”
