Bangkok Airways Continues “Love the Earth: Mangrove Reforestation” Initiative for the 6th Year, Revitalizing Coastal Ecosystems in Trat Province

Trat / 12 June 2026 – Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited continues its environmental conservation efforts with the “Love the Earth: Mangrove Reforestation with Bangkok Airways – Year 6” initiative. The activity was led by Mr. Sreephop Sarasas and Mr. Somboon Kitiyansap, members of the Company’s Board of Directors, together with Blue Volunteers and staff from Trat Airport. The event was honored with the participation of Mr. Thanit Saengvisuthi, Director of the Marine and Coastal Resources Learning Center Region 1, Trat Province. The activity took place at the Black Sand Beach and Mangrove Forest Ecotourism Center, Laem Ngop Subdistrict, Laem Ngop District, Trat Province.
The “Love the Earth: Mangrove Reforestation with Bangkok Airways – Year 6” initiative featured a range of conservation activities, including mangrove planting, propagation, seed sowing, and the release of aquatic species.
The program involved planting mangrove and coastal species in embankment restoration areas, including Thespesia populnea, Acanthus ebracteatus, Lumnitzera racemosa, Pluchea indica, Syzygium gratum, and Xylocarpus moluccensis. Mangrove saplings such as Rhizophora apiculata, Lumnitzera racemosa, and Rhizophora mucronate were also planted and staked to support shoreline rehabilitation.
In addition, participants sowed mangrove seeds, including Xylocarpus granatum, Acanthus ebracteatus, and other coastal plant species, while oysters, shellfish, and crabs were released into designated conservation zones to help restore the local ecosystem and promote marine biodiversity.
This initiative aims to provide employees with an opportunity to actively participate in conserving and restoring natural resources and coastal ecosystems, which play a vital role in maintaining environmental balance. The project also enhances biodiversity and contributes to carbon dioxide absorption supporting efforts to mitigate global warming impacts. Furthermore, it helps restore the richness of coastal ecosystems while reinforcing Bangkok Airways’ commitment to sustainable environmental stewardship and community engagement.
